El estilo característico de liderazgo de San Juan Bautista de La Salle es el llamado Liderazgo de Servicio descrito por Robert Greenleaf y Larry Spears. Dicho liderazgo está caracterizado por su visión, capacidad de escucha y de construcción comunitaria. Su liderazgo afrontó muchos desafíos. La Salle alcanzó el éxito con los Hermanos haciendo realidad una comunidad de maestros dedicados a la educación de los pobres.
